Pengmas HKBP & CDS/CDRM Univ HKBP Nommensen Share & Discussion Programs

After introducing Pengmas HKBP to Rev.Totok, director of CDS/CDRM through cellular
phone, furthermore, on Mei 3, 2009 Mr totok visited Pengmas HKBP office and Farmer
field school in Tigadolok Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. In that time
Rev.Reinjustin, director of Pengmas HKBP, shared and introduced the overall activities
of Pengmas HKBP such as: Motivating/organizing, Community Economy Development
(through: Agriculture/livestock, Animal’s offspring, Union Credit (CU), reforestry),
Information/ Networking and Supporting system. And In the other hand Rev.totok
introduced CDS/CDR programs also.

After long sharing and discussion of each its programs, Mr. Rev.Totok and Pengmas
HKBP visited also pilot project of Pengmas HKBP, integrated farming which is
combining with livestock and farmers field school, which is located near pengmas office.
Pengmas also introduced farmer’s field school program activities. This is the place for the
farmer to train how to cultivate organic agriculture and livestock, how to make compost
and organic pesticide, to train how to manage their own money in Credit Union etc.

TO handle the overall Pengmas program activities, Pengmas said that CDS is always
invited as a special lecture to train the participants. Mr Yanto Tampubolon, is then one of
expert of Agriculture from the CDS Univ. HKBP Nommensen, he was invited as a
trainer in Pengmas HKBP and Farmer field school activities. Hopely now and for the
future, it will be going continuously. We hope CDS/CDRM through Mr. Rev.Totok, do
not mind for paying full attention to help and support Pengmas and its all program
activities. Even now farmer Field school still new, which has dedicated by the head of
Diaconi Department of HKBP, Rev.Nelson Siregar, on Augustus 3, 2008, and donated by
LCA/ALWS,. Till now around 60 participants has graduated from the farmers field
school, even it’s classroom not so comfortable to live in. Pengmas always struggle in
order this school will train many farmers, which are never paying attention by the power
and government..

Hoping for the future. Through this school, farmers will go out from its poverty, and the
environment and all God Creature will be rejoice forever.

Pengmas and CDS/CDRM for the future will be take care good relationship and good
networking one another. Rev.Totok also hope that Farmer field school and it’s pilot
project of Pengmas it should be developed for the future, to extend the skill of the people
(participants) to cultivate from “hulu and hilir” (to know how to process from the
beginning: cultivation up to harvesting), he hopes may it is used as a length hand of CDS
to implemented its programs and to apply it’s vision and mission for the people. And
Pengmas HKBP said, that pengmas HKBP will ready as a contact person to help
CDS/CDR to extend their mission and vision, to make the people prosperous and to be
glorify of God, who created their creation.
